A popular waterside spot on the River Lee with many amenities. A good location for a day-trip from London, it is on the A10 just five miles north of the M25. Facilities include a marina and boatyard, The Crown riverside pub, leisure pool, afternoon river trips and hire boats (01992 462085), rowing (01992 463821), cycle hire, and WC. Walkers enjoy access to the Lee Valley riverside walk, and there is a footpath to Broxbourne rail station.

Half a mile south of Broxbourne, just after Carthagena Lock, is Nazeing Glass Works (01992 464485) where there is a factory shop (closed Sun).
