Boating on the Grand Union Canal in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire

Rickmansworth is a small Hertfordshire town on the banks of the Grand Union Canal.

Unfortunately little remains of the medieval town centre, although the 17th century Bury and timber-framed Priory are worth a look. For boaters, Rickmansworth boasts convenient moorings beside Tesco, so it’s easy to tie up here and stock up on groceries. While you’re in town, enjoy a drink in the White Bear and admire the view from the pretty waterside patio.
