Fort William
Fort William is a town with plenty for visitors and makes a ideal base for exploring the spectacular West Highland scenery.
The largest town in the West Highlands of Scotland lies at the southern end of the Great Glen on the shores of Loch Linnhe and Loch Eil.
Described as the ‘Outdoor Capital of the UK’, Fort William boasts the highest mountain in the UK – Ben Nevis, and there are outdoor activities in plenty here, including walking and climbing, cycling and mountain biking, riding and trekking, golf, angling and a range of water-sports.
The beginning, or end, of the canal lies at Corpach, just a few miles north west of the town.
