Walking near Invermoriston
The area around the Caledonian Canal is excellent walking country. Hill walkers can head off for the Highlands and the panoramic heights of Ben Nevis: the rest of us can enjoy the scenery from the level terrain of the canal towpath.
Loch Leven is a tranquil expanse of water which laps at the foothills of Glencoe. Ascending the steep slopes of Glencoe on foot is best suited to serious hill walkers. However, with a chairlift taking you up the mountain in minutes, even Sunday-afternoon strollers can enjoy the spectacular Highland scenery.
