Walking near Lancaster
Walkers find many opportunities to get out and about in Lancashire, including pleasant paths threading through the verdant Ribble valley.
The Lancaster Canal is popular both as a walking route in its own right and as a base for exploring the historic city of Lancaster. Similarly, The full 127-mile length of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal has achieved some renown as a long distance walk, from the banks of the River Mersey in Liverpool crossing superb scenery to the very centre of Leeds. Culture buffs should make a beeline for the art trail along the Ribble Link.
