Residing in a fomer Custom House of 1764, the Lancaster Maritime Museum was opened in 1985.

The museum tells the fascinating story of the Lancaster Canal, ecology and fishing in Morecombe Bay and also of the port of Lancaster, using smells, sounds, exhibitions and reconstructions.

Facilities at the museum include an education programme, a shop and cafe, wheelchair access and car parking.
