Tate Liverpool

The northern bastion of the Tate family, the Tate Liverpool is probably the largest gallery of modern and contemporary art outside the Capital. Visitors should not be fooled by the historic surroundings of Albert Dock, for behind the walls of this beautifully converted warehouse stands an innovative array of installation, sculpture, photography and more.

But it's not all American Abstraction and video. The National Collection of Modern Art in the North of England highlights artwork specially selected from the Tate Collection dating from 1900 to the present day. Painting and sculpture have due prominence alongside more recent artistic developments.
