Golden Mile – Belgrave Road

Belgrave Road or as it's more popularly known The Golden Mile is a well known stretch of road for its vibrant Asian Community and it has been stated that the area is 'the closest that Britain comes to an Indian bazaar'.

This community brings fascinating and unique features to the area. The unique sari (traditional Asianwear) and Asian jewellers that line the Golden Mile provide Leicester with a vivacious and invaluable asset. The area is also home to its many authentic Indian restaurants which are recognised around the country.

The winter is a very special time for The Golden Mile, as it hosts its very own Diwali and Christmas celebrations. Two days out of the year the road is closed allowing its many residents and thousands of visitors the chance to wander the Golden Mile and absorb the lively atmosphere. The area also plays host to stunning Christmas lights during the festive period.
