St Leonard's Church

Lincolnshire

Built around 1230, possibly for Robert de Tattersall, St. Leonard's Church is a fine example of Early English architecture. The west door is solid oak and original. Other points of interest are its stonework andits vaulting with unusually intricate bosses and Norman decoration.

The church is now redundant and locked; however, if you ask at Kirkstead Abbey down the road, you can get a key to visit. Note that the remains of the Abbey are also worth a visit while you're here.
