The building in which thismuseum ishoused is as interesting as its contents. A 15th century guildhall, this is the site where the Pilgrim Fathers were imprisoned in 1607 - and you can even see the cells. Downstairs is the original 16th Century kitchen.

Meanwhile the museum exhibits examples ofarchaeology, weaponry, fine, decorative and applied art, coins and medals, andrural and maritime history.
