A few yards from the Angel station, the River Lee winds north towards Hertfordshire.

Islington’s boutiques, bars and restaurants are within easy reach of this scenic green corridor – giving residents and visitors the chance to wind down with a waterside stroll after a frenzied afternoon’s shopping (or burn off the calories gleamed over lunch).

Days out in Islington
Sadler’s Wells, with its cutting-edge contemporary theatrical programme, is within easy reach of the River Lee. Why not take a picnic to enjoy by the river before taking your seats for the show? Likewise, the shops and pubs of Upper Street are a mere stone’s throw from the waterside. There’s no reason why day visitors can’t explore further afield with a walk towards Pickett’s Lock.
