Uxbridge
Uxbridge lies with Buckinghamshire countryside on one side and the bright lights of London on another; the Grand Union Canal carves a scenic corridor between the two.
Boaters find Uxbridge a convenient spot to moor up and stock up on supplies. Boat services are available nearby – and numerous shops, pubs and restaurants in the town centre mean you’re spoiled for choice for lunch. For anglers, Uxbridge is a popular destination with clusters of fisheries both north and south of the town.
But the Grand Union Canal at Uxbridge is also prized by those whose hobbies or lifestyles don’t directly take them to the water. Commuters arriving at Uxbridge Metropolitan Station can emerge from the tube to take a revitalising walk along the canal and residents can enjoy some fresh air at the weekend with a towpath stroll to Uxbridge Lock or perhaps even further to Denham Deep lock.
