Fishing in Lowlands
What Belgium is to chocoholics, Scotland has been to anglers since the 17th century. With two rivers jostling for prominence in the list of world’s greatest salmon fisheries, lochs teeming with your choice of catch and canals noted for roach, perch and more, anglers have their choice of fishing spots in the Lowlands.
If salmon is your catch of the day, head for the River Tweed or the River Tay. For pike, all roads lead to Loch Lomond, one of the best places to catch pike in the UK. For more or less anything else, the Forth & Clyde and Union Canal boast a full compliment of coarse fish species.
