Scott's View

On the B6356
Lowlands

Image for Scott's View

This scenic spot just of the B6356 is the perfect place to sit and enjoy the Borderland panorama. It is said to be the finest vantage point in all of Scotland and was the favourite view of the author Sir Walter Scott - so much so that the horse pulling his funeral hearse automatically pulled up here.

In the background stand the Eildon Hills, where first Iron Age man and later the Romans built their encampments.
