Places to go near Liverpool

Merseyside - Three Graces
Where to even start? Merseyside and its 84-mile coastline offers a huge choice of places to see, whether you are looking for a peaceful afternoon out by yourself, a romantic getaway or family day out complete with demanding youngsters.

The Albert Dock, which recently underwent a £100 million regeneration, is the place to eat, drink and soak up the city’s dockland heritage. If you want to know more about the town’s history, the Museum of Liverpool Life is the place to go.

Those who like the darker side of life will love the Shiverpool Ghost Tour, and afterwards you can calm your nerves with a soothing saunter around the Walker Art Gallery or Tate of Liverpool. If relaxing isn’t your thing then sports and music fans are catered for by Liverpool’s state of the art Echo Arena.

Of course no trip to Merseyside would be complete for any waterway lover without a visit to the National Waterways Museum in Ellesmere Port and if it’s the Beatles you are after you can even choose from their old abodes and a selection of museums dedicated to the fab four.

With so much on offer, how can you resist?
