Reedham Chain Ferry

This is a great spot to stop and let the world go by. The car ferry itself is a pretty unsophisticated affair - being essentially a small floating raft, only big enough to carry three cars, guided across on chains - but since it's the only crossing of the Yare between Great Yarmouth and Norwich it proves surprisingly busy. Nearby is the Reedham Ferry Inn (01493 700429), with extensive river frontage, good food and traditional ales. The Inn also hosts the Reedham Ferry Folk Festival, held every year in August.
