You'll find Plas Newydd in the heart of breathtaking Snowdonia. James Wyatt built the house in the 18th Century and it was visited by many a famous artist, from painters like Rex Whistler, to the poets Browning and Tennyson, and the writers Walter Scott and Wordsworth.

There is an exhibition on Whistler here and a military museum containing personal effects of 1st Marquess of Anglesey, who commanded the cavalry at the Battle of Waterloo.

The grounds are 12 acres of gardens, arboretum, woodland and public park. Quite lovely and well worth a visit.
