Braunston

This point - where the Grand Union and Oxford Canals meet - is the busiest anywhere on the British canals network.

Despite its splendid rural setting, there is a wealth of amenities available here both at Braunston Marina and at the pretty village of Braunston two minutes away on the hill above the junction. Other waterway businesses and shops are clustered along the canal.

Braunston Marina (01788 891373) provides pump-out, fuel, chandlery, launderette, gas, boatyard, dry dock and moorings. Canal information is available from the British Waterways office in the Stop House. Facilities in Braunston Village include the Old Plough & Wheatsheaf pubs (food at both), Mill House (accommodation), shop, post office, and butcher.
