Places to go near Northampton

Take a walk around the small village of Fotheringhay and revel in its royal connections – on the banks of the River Nene stand the proud remains of the castle which saw the birth of Richard III and the sad death of Mary Queen of Scots. Nature-lovers should head for Kinewell Lake Nature Reserve which is noted for attracting many varieties of butterfly and dragonfly.
