Nottingham

Moor your boat at Castle Boulevard and explore the city of Nottingham; a vibrant regional capital jampacked with attractions, shops, restaurants and bars.

Situated on a high rock, Nottingham Castle commands spectacular views over the city and once rivalled the great Castle of Windsor and the Tower of London. The city’s rich heritage can also be glimpsed in the trendy Lace Market - an area full of attractions including the lace market, Shire Hall and the Galleries of Justice.

Through it all runs the historic River Trent – one of England’s major trading rivers since Roman times.

Walking to work in Nottingham
The peaceful Nottingham Canal is a convenient highway through Nottingham City Centre, passing close by the train and bus station, offices, shops and the popular Castle Meadow Retail Park. Nottingham’s commuters can bypass the busy traffic on the A6005 and travel by public transport into the city – then arrive at their destination refreshed and relaxed after a scenic waterside walk. Alternatively, get on your bike and pedal your way to health with a daily cycle ride along the towpath.
