Gunthorpe Lock is a popular part of the River Trent and a great location to stop off and experience a unique part of Nottingham.
The location has been an important river crossing for many years and visitors can discover more about the lock from the interpretation panel and listening post on site.
Walkers can gain access at Gunthorpe Lock to the Trent Valley Way and anglers can enjoy excellent river fishing between Stoke and Gunthorpe, with day permits available. Disabled visitors will find excellent access, with ample car parking and a wide towpath.
When cruising along the River Trent, why not plan to stop at Gunthorpe Lock for lunch or an evening meal – Tom Brown’s Restaurant is close by on the banks of the river and welcomes visitors with a lively atmosphere and delicious food.
