Holme Lock

Holme Lock is a delightfully rural location, right next to the National Watersports Centre.

The lock gates at Holme Lock weigh an amazing 15 tonnes each and there are a number of interpretation panels on site that describe just how vast the lock is.

Keen cyclists can hire bikes nearby and explore the area on two wheels. Colwick Country Park has facilities for football, fishing and baseball and is only a short walk or cycle ride away.

Also nearby is Holme Pierrpont Hall – believed to be one of Britain’s oldest brick buildings.

The National Watersports Centre is Just three miles from Nottingham on the River Trent, offering some of the most comprehensive water sports facilities in the world and is an ideal and natural training ground for the country's leading water sportsmen and women.
