Walking in Powys

A family walking along the canal in Powys

Walk part of the famous Severn Way along the towpath of the Montgomery Canal between Newtown and Berriew. The canal route is one of the easiest sections of the 210 mile river walk, the surroundings are rural and picturesque with good pubs along the way. The Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal is one of the most beautiful in the country and attracts walkers from far afield. Not far from Powys, the northern section of the towpath forms part of the Taff Trail – which links Cardiff and the valleys to Brecon.

Cerdded ym Mhowys

Cerddwch ran o’r Llwybr Hafren enwog ar hyd llwybr Camlas Maldwyn rhwng y Drenewydd ac Aberriw. Llwybr y gamlas yw un o’r darnau hawsaf i’w gerdded ar hyd 210 milltir llwybr yr afon. Mae yng nghanol ardal wledig a hardd ac mae sawl tafarn dda ar hyd y ffordd. Mae Camlas Mynwy ac Aberhonddu yn un o gamlesi harddaf y wlad, gan ddenu cerddwyr o bell. Heb fod ymhell o Bowys, mae darn gogleddol llwybr y gamlas yn ffurfio rhan o Lwybr y Taf, sy’n cysylltu Caerdydd a’r cymoedd ag Aberhonddu.
