Blake Mere

One of the many attractive lakes around Ellesmere - popularly known as "Shropshire's Lake District" - Blake Mere, a short distance east of the town, is situated on the banks of the Llangollen Canal.
Like its larger neighbour, 'The Mere', Blake Mere is particularly rich in wildlife. Only the towpath separates the canal and the lake, so you can moor up for the night in this particularly scenic spot or simply enjoy a walk with water on both sides.
