Bristol
A vibrant 21st century city, a relaxing waterside destination and a showcase for the engineering feats of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, welcome to Bristol.
Follow the River Avon through the elegant streets of Bristol, past attractive bars and restaurants and into the vast Floating Harbour - one of England’s most exciting arts and entertainment centres. Here stands the SS Great Britain, the premier leisure destination At-Bristol and of course the colourful Marina.
Walking to work in Bristol
Commuters arriving at Bristol Temple Meads station are well met by the peaceful River Avon - so it’s easy to arrive at the office refreshed after a brisk walk following the loop of the river to Bristol’s bustling business district. Lunchtime brings the choice of several waterside pubs, cafes and restaurants dotted near Marsh Street and The Grove.
Days out by the river
Take a trip on the Bristol ferry, visit St George’s concert hall or learn more about Bristol’s rich maritime past in the Industrial Museum. Last but not least, no visit to Bristol would be complete without a stroll over Brunel’s famed Clifton Suspension Bridge.
