South west Wales

Upper Neuadd

Fairy tale fortresses perch high on cliffs, fallow deer flit through ancient woodlands, all the romance of Wales is here.

The south-west of Wales is an untamed expanse of heather-clad moorland, rugged Cambrian mountains and fast-flowing rivers. Carmarthen has long been recognised as the land of Arthurian legend – but this pastoral beauty expands well beyond the county boundary. Spot the fishermen out in traditional coracles on the River Towy, clamber through ruined castles and watch the salmon leap at Cenarth Falls.

Y De-orllewin

Caerau tylwyth teg ar glogwyni uchel, ewig lwyd yn gwibio drwy goedwigoedd hynafol – mae holl ramant Cymru yma.

Ledled y de-orllewin, fe welwch ehangder gwyllt rostiroedd grugog, mynyddoedd garw Cambria ac afonydd cyflym. Mae Caerfyrddin yn enwog am ei chysylltiad â’r chwedlau Arthuraidd, ond mae ei harddwch gwledig yn ymestyn ymhell y tu hwnt i ffiniau’r sir. Gwyliwch y pysgotwyr yn eu cwryglau traddodiadol ar yr Afon Tywi, ewch i archwilio’r cestyll hynafol a gwyliwch yr eog yn llamu yn Rhaeadrau Cenarth.
