Walking in Staffordshire
Walkers find much to interest and challenge them in Staffordshire.
The towpath of the Caldon Canal is country walking at its best. Apart from the wonderful Staffordshire scenery, there are lots of things to see - from the Leek Branch aqueduct, to locks, mills and a steam railway at Cheddleton. Not forgetting the welcoming waterside pubs dotted along the canal.
Good walking is also to be had around the shores of Rudyard Lake and along the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal. Convenient railway stations at Penkridge and Wolverhampton offer the possibility of a one-way towpath walk.
