Coventry
Enhanced by the peaceful canal and stunning cathedral, Coventry is a scenic place to live and work.
Follow the eponymous canal from the terminus basin to the offices and shops of Bishopgate Green – or take a lunchtime stroll along the Coventry Art Trail towards Hawkesbury Junction. A handful of waterside pubs serve up hearty fare with views of the canal at no extra charge.
Days out by the canal
A little out of the city, boaters endure a stern test of stamina at Hatton Locks. One of the most picturesque spots on the Grand Union this staircase flight has been feared and revered in equal measure since the days of the working boatmen. Today, boaters and walkers can recover from their exertion at the welcoming Hatton Locks Café.
