A little out of the city, boaters endure a stern test of stamina at Hatton Locks. One of the most picturesque spots on the Grand Union this staircase flight has been feared and revered in equal measure since the days of the working boatmen. Today, boaters and walkers can recover from their exertion at the welcoming Hatton Locks Café.
