King's Norton Stop Lock

King's Norton Stop Lock
Kings Norton
Warwickshire

T: 01827 252000

Originally constructed to separate one company's water from another, stop locks are a common sight on canals. However, King's Norton Stop-Lock is unusual and beautiful due to its uniqueness - it's the only guillotine-gated stop-lock on a canal.

It separates the northern part of the Stratford-on-Avon Canal from the Worcester & Birmingham. Alas it's no longer in use, but is a lovely sight to behold if you're going that way.
