Mary Arden's is one of the five Shakespeare Houses in and around Stratford-upon-Avon.
The large site contains two fine Tudor buildings - the historic timbered farmhouse where William Shakespeare's mother lived before she upped and married Will's dad John, and neighbouring Palmer's Farm where today you can step back into the 1570s and experience an normal day with a farming household from Shakespeare's time, from milking the cows and cultivation of vegetables to the lighting of fires and baking of bread...and much more.
Take time to explore the nature trail, orchards, children's play area and track down the majestic Long-horn Cattle, Buff Orpington chickens, Cotswold sheep, Gloucester Old Spot Pigs and much more.
