Boating near Stourbridge
The West Midlands is a boaters’ paradise with numerous waterways to explore. If it’s a challenge you’re after, try out the Hatton Locks on the Grand Union Canal. With 21 locks elevating it out of the Avon Valley, this stretch of canal linking Warwick and Birmingham is fondly known as the stairway to heaven.
Once out of the cities, the canals and rivers soon meander into rural areas and with a number of cruising rings in the area, are a perfect location for a week’s holiday.
