A charming English country garden.
7 acres of spacious lawns, clipped yew hedges and fine specimen trees form the basis of this delightful English-style garden. Created in the early 20th century, it remains a peaceful rural retreat infused with colourful blooms and topiary-framed vistas.
Courts Garden was carefully fashioned to compliment the distinguished 18th century stone house standing at the centre - hence the formal layout of hedged compartments and stone statues. However, the endearingly lopsided yew hedges often reveal simple surprises such as colourful rose beds and rectangular lily ponds. The Mexican red-ink plant grows throughout the garden as a lasting memorial to Courts' long association with the West Country wool trade.
