The World's largest railway museum is full of railway paraphernalia and millions of artefacts, ranging from Mallard - the world's fastest steam locomotive - to a lock of Robert Stephenson's hair.
There are also a number of fascinating exhibitions - 50 years of British Rail, the Japanese Bullet Train, the holiday express, the Palace on Wheels and the Mail Train.
The museum features fine examples of historic trains, main line trains (in miniature), and all sorts of railway-related information, such as how they work, how they feature in art, and the evolution of express and commuter travel.
