Charter our luxury narrowboat for a unique holiday cruising the English and Welsh canals. As the network covers some 2,500 miles this allows us to offer a variety of routes from which to choose. These take in well known cities and towns, historic places of interest, but at the same time travelling through many miles of unspoilt countryside which by any other mode of transport most people will never have the opportunity to see.
Our aim is to provide you with a truly memorable holiday, enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the waterways, whether it be walking, fishing, photography, sketching or just relaxing and enjoying the scenery as it slowly slips by. During the course of your holiday you will be more than welcome to help steer the boat, work the locks and bridges, the choice is yours as to how much or little you wish to do.
Our cruises are planned to start and finish near railway or coach stations, where upon arrival, you will be met by either Kevin or Shirley. If travelling by car, in most cases we will be able to arrange parking facilities. Although your holiday will include a cruising schedule every effort will be made to tailor the route to suit your requirements. If for any reason our start and finish points are not suitable, provided we are scheduled to be in the general area and subject to bookings, please feel free to discuss this with us.
To offer greater flexibility we can provide bed and breakfast, half board and full board options, (including packed lunches if required), therefore allowing guests who may wish to sample local cuisine, or those who wish a walk/cruise holiday more choice.
Charter Hotelboat Shirleyanne
Shirleyanne is a 62ft hotel narrowboat owned and operated by ourselves Kevin and Shirley. With your comfort in mind, our boat has been furnished to a very high standard, is fully carpeted and gas centrally heated, a 'home from home' to ensure that your holiday is as comfortable and relaxing as possible.
240v is available throughout, and we provide the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The saloon has been thoughtfully co-ordinated, has ample seating and provides a spacious area for you to relax in. This leads to the covered observation deck with seating, which on finer days can be converted to open air.
Personal service is assured, accommodation being for 2 guests in a convertible twin or double cabin, which has ample wardrobe and drawer space. As luggage space is at a premium, we request that soft holdalls are brought which can be easily stored when unpacked. We recommend that you pack casual clothing, along with sturdy footwear and waterproof clothing for the unpredictable English climate. The bathroom has a modern flush w.c., wash handbasin and overbath shower, towels and soap are of course provided.
