These ancient woodlands offer scenic and varied walking routes for people of all abilities.

The 5000-acre Ashridge estate crosses the Hertfordshire/Buckinghamshire border along the main ridge of the Chiltern Hills. Wide and winding paths meander through the chalk downs and leafy woodland towards the Monument, the focal point of the Estate which was erected by the Duke of Bridgewater in 1832.

Ashridge is a peaceful haven for all kind of wildlife. Herds of deer still roam through the trees and spring bluebells blanket the woodland floor. Visitors who rise to the challenge of ascending Ivinghoe Beacon are rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding Chiltern countryside.
