Lee Valley Boat Centre

Lee Valley Boat Centre is ideally situated in the centre of the Lee Valley Regional Park. In just a week, visitors can cruise into London and along the River Thames or for a longer break, travel along the Grand Union Canal. Whether you are looking for a relaxing break or just a day out, the Lee Valley Boat Centre offers something for everyone.

Passenger Boats
The Lady of Lee Valley is a splendid custom-built open plan passenger boat, seating 56, with a kitchen, table and chairs, toilet, central heating, open front deck and a lift for wheelchairs, skipper and crew. The Pride of Lee is a smaller boat which does a 2pm trip every day in the summer, except Mondays and Tuesdays.

Narrowboats can be hired from the centre for weekends, weeks and mid-week breaks.

Visitors are able to cruise some of the most beautiful waterways and visit some historic and lively cities and towns.

Holidays and short breaks

Relax, cruise away from the pressures of work and phone, aboard one of our boats. Experience life at the leisurely pace of four miles per hour.

We offer short breaks or weekly holidays aboard our 2 - 12 berth narrow self-drive boats from our base in North East London. The base is not far from Motorways, Railway stations and Airports. All the boats are equipped for year-round cruising, with central heating, flush toilets, showers, fridges, full size cookers and radio cassette players. We supply all your bed linen requirements, and each boat comes with a complete kitchen inventory.

Whether you choose a short break or a longer cruise, there is always plenty to do and see during your trip. No mooring fees and no driving licence!

Riverside Chalets
We also have three Riverside Chalets available for weekly or short break rent on a backwater of the River Lee. There are a varied number of scheduled cruises & private hire, including parties, buffets and dinners on Lady of Lee Valley and Pride of Lee.

Hire Fleet
Our hire fleet based in the North East of London offers comfortable, centrally heated boats for year round cruising in and out of the Greater London area, on the Rivers Lee and Stort, up or down The Grand Union Canal, to the Oxford Canal and on the Thames.

Our aim with the fleet is to provide the best, but economical boats, usually with comfy sleeping for even the tallest people - plenty of head room, all the boats have large cruiser stems and roomy foredecks. We trust on all our boats, your needs will be catered for. Buoyancy aids and wet weather gear are available free of charge. Apart from weekly hire, all the boats can be booked for short breaks which are Friday-pm to Monday-am. Monday-pm to Friday-am, some boats start on Saturdays and Tuesdays.

Within the last few years our customers have been as far afield as Skipton in North Yorkshire, Bath and Bristol, Liverpool, Godalming, Ware, Bishops Stortford, Oxford and Lechlade and even, by mistake - Greenwich. Some only go to Little Venice - in the heart of London - and visit London sights for a few days. Stansted Airport is only 10 easy miles from Broxboume and there is a direct link from Liverpool Street Station. Junction 25 on the M25 also leads you quickly to Broxboume.

We are confident that the experienced boater will enjoy our boats and the first time boater will be equally at home after tuition and a short while at the helm. Unlike some continental countries, no licences are required by the driver of the boat as all tuition you will need is given. The controls are very simple, you can see very clearly what the boat is doing and where you are going. Our cruising area offers many contrasting waterways, remote countryside, hills and meadows, pubs, towns and the beautiful Lee Valley Park. The destinations you can pick from our bases are too numerous to list but you can see from a map that the possibilities are endless - North, South, East or West. Our customers are amazed by the varied town and countryside in our area. Even into London it is amazingly green and peaceful. Out of London offers all that can be experienced in some of the northern canals.

Electric, rowing and pedalo boats are available by the hour.
