Newby Hall Estate
Newby Hall is the family home of Mr and Mrs Richard Compton, and one of England's renowned Adam houses. It's a beautiful tribute to 18th century interior decoration, with a fabulous collection of contents by Weddell (a family ancestor), including classical statuary and some of Chippendale's finest furniture.
In addition, its 25 acres of award-winning Gardens are full of rare and beautiful plants. Walk along the famous double herbaceous borders before choosing from Sylvia's Garden, a species Rose Garden, the Water Garden the Tropical Garden.
Children will love Newby's Adventure Garden where they dabble in the paddling pool, whizz down the aerial slide or pedal away on the pedaloes. And after that, the family can always take a stroll along the Woodland Discovery Walk or grab a healthy bite at the Garden Restaurant.
