Pennine Cruisers are situated in the market town of Skipton, Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, close to the summit of the beautiful Leeds and Liverpool canal, the ideal location for your canal holiday.

We have a number of new additions to our fleet which have been built in 2004/05, all our boats have been refurbished to a high standard since November 2004. They are designed with your comfort in mind and are spacious and well equipped to a very high standard.

We offer short break and weekly canalboat hire and also day boat hire. First timers are most welcome too.

Canal cruising, once tried, is never forgotten.

During your holiday you will feel yourself unwinding as life takes on a different pace and aspect. The locks and swing bridges provide your crew with plenty of exercise and amusement. The canal-side villages and farms are a source of homegrown produce and other provisions and offer an interesting sortie into unknown country.

Your evening mooring may find you alongside one of the canal-side inns where you will find refreshment and the opportunity to exchange tales of your experiences, or you may choose the quiet solitude of the open countryside with only the call of the curlew or the chatter of the moorhen for company.

A canal holiday is ideal for the whole family since it provides interest and entertainment for all ages whatever the weather. It also provides great value for money because once the hire fee is paid the majority of the holiday's ingredients are included thus you are not involved in further major expense.

The holiday fee includes:

A top-class and specially built luxury boat with full headroom throughout, complete with a fully equipped galley with full sized cooker, hob, fridge, stainless steel sink and drainer, storage cupboards, cylinder cupboard, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils, hot and cold running water, full central heating and flushing fresh water toilets, shower, full size berths with pillows, quilts and fresh linen.

The craft is licensed to cruise over 2000 miles of canals.

The fee also includes all fuel, colour T.V. and radio cassette, buoyancy aids, full instruction in craft handling and lock working instructions.

There is a web-like network of canals in England which date from the 18th and 19th centuries when they were the vital arteries of the commercial and industrial life of the time.

That life giving role has changed as trade switched to roads and railways, which epitomise the humdrum pace at which we live. The canal system now offers a sanctuary for wildlife and humans alike with its peaceful meanderings that belong to another age

ALL PRICES INCLUDE:-
The hire of the boat and its equipment, diesel, gas, bedding (one pillow, pillowcase and quilts), (towels for overseas hirers only), cruising guides, buoyancy aids, full instructions on boat handling and lock operation, colour television and radio cassette player, 2 car parking spaces and V.A.T. at 17.5% .

ITEMS NOT INCLUDED:
Pets £25 per week or part week. Pets must be kept off the bedding, all damage caused by pets will be charged to the hirer. Car Park (over 2 cars) at £10 per week or part week.

Damage Waiver
Your final invoice will include a £30 non-returnable damage waiver which covers you for any accidental damage during your holiday.

DAY BOATS. LUXURY NARROWBOATS
FOR DAILY HIRE

We have two boats that are 32ft diesel powered steel narrowboats, seating a maximum of ten people. They are equipped with a two burner/grill cooker, sink, crockery and all have flushing toilets. A cabin heater is installed for winter cruising. Our boats are available daily throughout the year and offer a fantastic day out in the Yorkshire Dales at a very reasonable price. We also have two boats, which can take up to five people.

Enjoy a 30 minute cruises on 'Leo' down the historic Springs Branch and see Skipton Castle from a different angle. At only £3 per adult and £2 per child they are excellent value.
