RSPB Rainham Marshes is a unique wetland nature reserve which has been restored to it’s previous splendour following 100 years of use as a MoD shooting range.

The marshland has an array of wildlife including birds, mammals, insects and reptiles, as well as grazing cows!

The reserve is a fantastic day out for all the family displaying a window into how the marsh was 200 years ago. Not only is there a network of trails, boardwalks and viewpoints around the reserve there are also regular and special activities for all ages, and an award winning visitor centre, café, gift shop, picnic areas and an adventure play area.

Opening times: 9.30am - 5pm between 1 April and 31 October, 9.30am - 4.30pm between 1 November and 31 March, with café open between 10am and 4pm.

Entrance fees: RSPB members and Thurrock and Havering residents: free, adults: £2.50, children: £1, family (two adults and up to four children): £7
