Beauchamp Lodge Settlement is a registered charity based on the Harrow Road in North Westminster. Set up by the Hon. Mrs Diana Marr-Johnson in 1938 to relieve poverty in the Paddington area, it has been working with local communities ever since to provide services, support and opportunities through a range of community development projects.
The Lodge has always had strong links with the local canals and set up the UK's first community narrow boat project.
The Electric Barge is an eco friendly silent running boat with the capacity to take up to 60 passengers in comfort on the Regent’s Canal and Grand Union Canal in London.
Private hire of the boat supports the charitable activities of Beauchamp Lodge. As the Floating Classroom, the company take over 3000 children on canal based educational trips every year.
