A Derbyshire County Council countryside tourist information site, stocking lots of useful guides, books, maps and walks leaflets on the local area. They are a mine of information, plus you can purchase refreshments here.
The Chesterfield Canal Trust operates a passenger trip boat, theJohn Varley, from Tapton Lock Visitor Centre. It offers public trips on Sundays, and also charter hire by individuals, groups, firms and schools. This boat is equipped with a wheelchair lift.
