For many years we, Michael Knott and Eunice Tunstall, believed that there was a need for a better brokerage service. Our backgrounds are Technology Sales, Marketing and Projects. We have both worked for large and small companies. Having been boaters for many years, and having bought and sold boats using brokers, we felt it was time that brokerage was brought into the 21st century and that customers deserved higher standards of presentation, quality of information and a friendly, professional service. The most common complaint about buying a boat is the amount of time and money wasted travelling around viewing boats that turn out to be unsuitable because the information provided by most brokers is seriously lacking to say the least. By making use of today's technology we have totally changed the way boats are taken to market. BETTER SERVICE FOR ALL

At Boat Finder we provide a personal and bespoke service by inspecting each boat ourselves and using state of the art digital equipment, take photographs, video footage, a full specification and an interior layout. Back at the office, the video footage is professionally edited, overlayed with music and put onto a Video CDROM that can be viewed on a PC or a DVD player. The full-colour, covered and bound brochure further enhances the information by including detailed interior floor plan, room by room description with photographs and full specification. Unlike anyone else, we are totally unique and market leaders in our presentation. We have spent a great deal of time and effort ensuring our web design house know exactly what our customers need and they have provided an excellent, easy to use information portal that not only offers static information, but also gives our customers the facility of electronically down-loading the full colour brochure. The feedback we receive from all visitors to our site is that they rank it as the best brokerage web site. We contribute this success to our understanding of customers' needs and our many years of boating experience, including living aboard. Now customers can view our boats in the comfort of their own home and together with the CD-ROM enjoy a 'virtual' walk through and full details of every room and what is behind the scenes.

Predominantly, our service is tailored to selling high quality boats from their home moorings. However, we do have brokerage moorings in Cheshire should customers require them. So successful is our video service that many boats sell on the first actual viewing - the average is three viewings. This is due mainly to the quality of information and the video tours we produce. This enables us to get the information to a prospective buyer anywhere in the world quicker than any other broker. This gives sellers a much larger catchment area than would normally be available. We have sold boats to many overseas customers. Such is our success that new boat builders are now using our marketing service. We also have a business partnership with River Canal Rescue to provide our buyers with free breakdown assistance to give them peace of mind. As one would expect, we have also invested heavily in our computer infrastructure and all enquiries are entered onto our database, including their key requirements. This database is regularly cleansed and can give us up to the minute information on our customers' requirements. This is why many of our boats are sold before they even reach the web site. We are the only broker in the world to offer this type of service.
