Laggan Locks on the Caledonian Canal

A stunning section of the canal made up of Laggan Locks, Laggan Avenue and Laggan Top. Laggan is situated approximately 10 miles from Fort Augustus, and a few miles from the small village of Invergarry. The area has a rich and colourful history, from the Battle of the Shirts; a battle between the MacDonald and Fraser clans in 1544, to the beheading of seven clansmen in 1663, marked by the monument at the Well of Seven Heads.
