Situated right beside the Caledonian Canal in the centre of Fort Augustus, The Bothy was originally built well over 200 years ago. Used as a workshop and subsequently as a wages office for the men who built the canal over 180 years ago, its natural stone walls, wooden beams and log fire grace a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Established in 1994 The Bothy has an unpretentious Scottish quality and charm and is renowned for a friendly welcome and courteous service. The Bothy also has a reputation for excellent fresh home-cooked food.
