Remember, remember the 5th of November,
Gunpowder, treason & plot…

This children’s rhyme has more significance to this stunning National Trust property than you may think.

Coughton Court, a stunning Tudor family home, was, in fact, the place where Fawkes, Gatesby et al discussed and developed their plan to blow up the Houses of Parliament. Visitors can find out more about the gang and the plan that came so close to being successful in an intriguing exhibition of the Gunpowder Plot in the house.

Within the house are collections of beautiful furniture, porcelain and family portraits. Managed by the Throckmorton family and the family home since 1409, the estate is home to two churches, a lake and a picturesque riverside walk.

Plant enthusiasts will enjoy taking a stroll through the striking gardens, taking in the colours from the roses and the scents from the herb garden.

We offer:
