The Lakes of South West England managed by South West Lakes Trust offer a variety of activities for all ages and interests in beautiful, peaceful surroundings.
Our five watersports centres including Stithians and Tamar Lakes, each have their own campsite with modern facilities; ideal for a family holiday or weekend break. At the lakes you can enjoy the water by learning to sail, windsurf or kayak with fully qualified instructors.
If you’re already experienced you can hire or launch your own craft; there is a variety of craft available for hire including rowing boats and Canadian canoes – great for families who want to spend time on the water, there are also sailing boats, windsurfs, surf skis and kayaks.
Each Centre is a RYA training centre and licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority to ensure you have the best time on water.
There is also a wide selection of coarse and trout fisheries in the region ranging from lakes of over 700 acres to lakes of an acre.
We have three premier rainbow trout fisheries, and a good number of brown and natural trout fisheries along with several waters of competition standard for coarse angling and lakes ideal for specimen hunting and pleasure fishing.
For those who enjoy walking in the peaceful countryside there are plenty of footpaths winding their way around the lakes many of which provide excellent circular routes.
At a number of the Lakes, including Siblyback and Wimbleball, refreshments are available from restaurants overlooking the water, each serving a wide selection of hot and cold lunches and snacks. At Roadford Lake you will find a very exciting and interactive visitor centre and a superb restaurant.
