Avon Ices - The Elizabeth

The Elizabeth was locally built and has traded in its present location within Bancroft Gardens since 1993. It was the first permanently moored trading boat in the canal basin at Stratford and is a fabulous little boat that is very popular with both adults and children.

Avon Ices, The Elizabeth is the first and only outlet in Stratford to sell ‘Rainbow’ soft ice cream – a high quality flavouring injected onto the outside of the ‘swirl’ of the soft ice cream by the machine. This is a much more hygienic solution to the flavouring of soft ice cream and is of a far greater quality than any ‘drizzle’ syrup Avon Ices have tried. It looks fantastic and is available in Strawberry, Chocolate, Tropical, Raspberry, Mint, and Lime. Three of these flavours are available at any one time but if you prefer your ice cream plain then the machine will do this too.

During busy trading periods, Avon Ices only buy locally produced fresh ice cream mix instead of UHT. This tastes fantastic but is only available during the busy summer months. Outside of this they use only the highest quality UHT mix available.

To compliment the soft ice cream on offer, Avon Ices sell a delicious, locally produced traditional dairy scoop ice cream. Flavours include Clotted Cream, Devon Toffee, Rum and Raisin and Lemon Meringue. This is a very high quality ice cream that must be tasted to appreciate how good it is.

In addition to the ice cream, Avon Ices offer a wide selection of lollies and also sell 2 flavours of slush. They serve tea, coffee and hot chocolate as well as a good selection of chilled drinks.
