The first impression when you step on board an Alvechurch boat is of space and light. For people who have not been on a boat before, or have been on boats other than ours, the interior comes as a surprise. In fact, a succession of pleasant surprises awaits you.

When you unpack you'll find we have anticipated your storage needs, with plenty of wardrobes and drawer space on board, but it's when you start to live on board that our boats come into their own.

On a narrowboat, you are welcomed as part of the scenery, rather than just another tourist. Your whole holiday is at walking pace, there's time to savour the scenery, talk to people and get in touch with a more social type of lifestyle.

Our Base Manager and his enthusiastic team aim to set a very high standard with their boats and service. This strategically sited base on the Trent & Mersey canal near Northwich in Cheshire is an excellent starting point for your canal cruise. There is even an excellent coffee shop/restaurant within the Marina building where you can eat and relax at the start and finish of your holiday.

The most popular routes are the Cheshire Ring and the canal that everyone wants to cruise, the Llangollen canal. However, for the newcomer to canals Chester or Ellesmere Port & return takes some beating. There are also a number of other good routes available for both short breaks, weeks and longer.
