The Seth Ellis

The Seth Ellis, launched in 2004, is based in the centre of Retford and departs from outside the Bay Tree Cafe.

As well as running public trips most Saturdays from noon, the boat is available for private charters from two to eight hours. It is fully equipped with a toilet, galley for the sale of hot and cold drinks, heating and a CD player.

A charter is an ideal way to celebrate a birthday or other special occasion, or just a great way to get out on to the water. Why not bring a picnic and explore the historic Chesterfield Canal?

30 minute public trips cost just £2.50 for adults and £2.00 for children. Charters are £30/hour (minimum 2 hours) for up to 12 passengers. All these costs include crew.

The boat is owned by the Chesterfield Canal Trust and maintained and operated by volunteer members of the Trust.

Advance booking is necessary for charters.
