College Cruisers

College Cruisers are the long-established hire fleet based right in the centre of the romantic City of Oxford. The parent company is registered as 'Funafloat', and that is exactly what we want you to have.

The Oxford Canal really is beautiful. It was built by James Brindley in the 18th century. Many of the locks and bridges are as they were when they were built. The canal follows the contours of the land, giving it many twists and turns as it seeks a passage through the delightful Oxford countryside.

A holiday on this canal allows you to escape the rigours of modern living. You can operate the locks and bridges or simply visit the pretty towns and villages along the way. when all this gets too much, then stop and take rest and refreshment at the many pubs along the way. Or, just moor up and watch the gentle activity as other boats pass you by. When you have had enough just turn the boat around and do it all again!

Enticing landscapes of soft gentle pastureland passing by antique Cotswold villages, it's unique charm has made it the country's most popular canal. It is a canal which you must explore. Mooring your boat and walking to the nearby villages and of course experiencing the numerous pubs along the way.

A short break takes you to Aynho or Banbury and back dependent on how energetic you feel and whether you get delayed in one of the many pubs. (Half of our boats are available for short breaks as we feel that this is a very good way to test the water!)

A one week cruise takes you to Napton and back on the canal (cruising through the newly built town centre of Banbury and the super little village of Cropredy) or you can cruise the Thames down to Windsor and back or to Lechlade and return. (Thames licence required).

There are some nice longer cruises also if you are planning one. It's best that you ring and have a chat. (The South of England circuit for example! or even a trip into the centre of London and Little Venice).

Our Boats
There are ten boats in the fleet ranging from 2 berth up to 12 berth, giving something to suit all needs and budgets. All are named after the University colleges in Oxford and are painted Oxford blue. Each boat is different and each one has a character of its own. We take pride in making sure that your chosen boat is spotlessly clean and very well maintained with everything in working order before your arrival to ensure that you take home with you happy memories of your time with College Cruisers on the Oxford canal.

On your arrival you will find your boat all ready and waiting for you, all fixed beds are made in advance with duvets and good quality linen. Extra pillows and blankets are always available on request, as are cot-sides for those smaller members of the crew, which ensures that nothing will go bump in the night.

On board our boats you will find everything you need for a fun, relaxing holiday. The kitchens are fully equipped so you gourmet chefs out there need not worry, you can still create, even afloat. We even supply frying pans so that you can all have unhealthy breakfasts, after all, you are on holiday!

Short breaks & Friday/Monday start boats
What better way to test the canal cruising water than with a short break (Friday to Monday, or Monday to Friday). Price includes: fuel, (diesel & gas), bedding, TV, hairdryer, car parking, route map, cleaning pack.Pets @ £25 each. An additional security deposit is required for large parties (8 or over) and single sex parties. This is fully refundable in cases of no negligence or accidents. NO OTHER EXTRAS.
